Passion is the key ingredient for many of the choices made at Servetto. It was from Ezio’s passion for cycling that a cycling sponsorship project was established.
It started in the early 90s when Brianza exploded with the colours of the Servetto amateur cycling team’s jerseys.
“All grown-ups were once children…but only few of them remember it.” (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry). Encouraging someone who is starting an activity, whether that be a sport or business, is crucial for the development of society. With this belief, Ezio decided to support a local team, the Polisportiva Molinello. This company based in Cesano Maderno, trains boys and girls in the following categories: very young, beginners and junior athletes.
Whilst looking at the stages of the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, Ezio thought that it would be a great achievement for the brand to also be shown on the jerseys of the big players. In 2010 an opportunity presented itself, and together with their friend Mauro Gianetti, the company started sponsoring the Footon-Servetto team, a professional worldwide-competing road bicycle racing team.
After having acquired experience in the world of male bicycle racing, in 2012 Servetto decided to support the project of a women’s team from Asti, who believed in sport, cycling and women.
This project started with junior athletes and finished with elite level women cyclists: it was a complete programme which trained and supported the athlete. Servetto believed in this group and supported and followed their progress from the front row. After 4 years, the AT Women’s Bike Team became a UCI team and several athletes participated in Rio for the 2016 Olympics. Servetto was at their side the whole time.
